THE FRUGAL ARTIST

My passion for the arts has always been a part of me. As a child, I remember my father encouraging me in the arts and my very talented sister in music.  I had no musical talent and definitely no ear for it.  In fact, I was tone deaf and to this day, can’t tell a sharp from a flat.

I did dabble in abstract painting and exhibited some of these works in the 1990s. Then work, raising a son and running an accounting/tax business didn’t leave much time for creation. Recently, I found some time to revive my passion for painting abstract art.

I would like to invite you to my art website: http://www.BrendaHendricksonFineArt.com

Artists Can Be Frugal Too

Do artists leave the business side of their creative talents to others like their agents, business managers or accountants? Most of the time, YES. They want to create in their studios because they are artists. But, they can’t avoid the reality of costs. So how do they merge the two?

For artists, hobbyists or crafters, be aware that there is an economic side to the creative mystique.

You finally sold your work. Great! But how much did it cost you to produce your masterpiece? Costs include materials used, your time, and profit margin.

Many of my clients say that it would price them out of the market. That may be true, but it forces you to innovate, be frugal, and be more productive.
